Paper cups are primarily categorized into;

Hot beverage paper cups are the type we use for drinking tea, coffee and other hot drinks.

Single wall cups, as the name suggests are paper cups made from a single layer of paper wall.

Self handle cups are single wall paper cups with an in-built handle for holding the cups while drinking.

Double wall paper cups are paper cups with an extra layer of paper wall around the single wall paper cup.

Ripple wall paper cups are paper cups with an extra layer of rippled paper wall around the single wall cup.

Your machines need to be designed for consistent productivity. Every project may not need high speed machines. The price and quality of the material you procure is also crucial. Your raw material plays a big role in ensuring your paper cups business experiences a healthy cash flow. 

Technically, you can produce multiple sizes on any given machine, provided you change the mould set of the product on the machine.

Now the more important question arises, how often do you want to keep changing the mould sets on your machine?

With a skilled operator and a good machine, the mould set changing process can easily take a day. Do you have enough profits in your paper cup business to allow your machine to remain idle frequently?

The quality of any paper cup can be determined by three factors;

• Strength of the wall.
• Sealing quality along the wall length and cup base.
• Degree of roundness on the top rim.

The sealing quality generally is good for most machines, depending the the heating unit, mould set quality and paper consistency.

The strength of the wall depends on the design of the mould or the cup & the paper used.

The roundness on the top rim is crucial for the cup to maintain its overall strength even when holding a hot beverage. The factors influencing this top rim roundness is the precision of the mould, the thickness of the paper & the moisture content on the sleeve.
