Getting into fibre moulded packaging?

Depending on the type of product and the technology used, we can use a wide variety of pulp sources for thermoforming.

Some of the most common sources of pulp are;

• Softwood pulp
• Bagasse pulp
• Rice & wheat husk pulp
• Recycled paper pulp

How do you choose the type of pulp depends on various factors and is crucial for the success of the project.

We have two main types of thermoforming technology available.

1. Wet pulp moulding 
2. Dry pulp moulding

Both technologies use different designs in the thermoforming process.

The raw material consumption, form and productivity vary depending on the technology adopted.

Pulp thermoforming gives us the possibility to mould any 3d shaped product with a disposable functionality.

Some of the products that are most commonly made using pulp thermoforming technology are as follows;

• egg trays
• disposable tableware
• disposable surgical containers
• cushioning material for shipping cartons packing
• inner packing for cosmetics and other consumer goods

Pulp thermoforming has two parts in the manufacturing process. We have the wet part and the dry part. The dry part is largely thermoforming, however the wet part is the more sensitive where we need to prepare the pulp to the right proportion, for the thermoforming process to be most efficient & give a quality output.
